How do i deal with this lazy teacher?

<p>I'm in my sophomore year of high school right now. I am taking an elective called "Communication Systems". The class is basically a waste of time. The things we learn about are just pointless and stupid. I don't know why I chose this class and neither did everyone else in the class.</p>

<p>To make matters worse, our teacher is extremely lazy. She seems like she has no desire or passion to teach AT ALL whatsoever. She's a first year teacher and this is apparently her first year teaching I guess. </p>

<p>So far, I have a 53% in the class. A LOT of people in our class have bad grades. I'm not the only one. The main reason for this is because I have 3 zeros in the class. She has not showed up to class for the past 4 class periods. During those periods she assigned us some busy work crap that we all had to do. I guess we were supposed to share it with her over google docs even though she told us nothing but a lot of people have zeros for the three assignments. There was a stupid "alphabet project" we had to do over the course of 3 days. Even though I finished it completely I got a 40% on it overall. She apparently takes off points if you roll around in your chairs or talk. </p>

<p>There was a pre assessment she gave on 9/9/13. I mean I'm assuming pre assessments are supposed to analyze your prior knowledge and shouldn't be graded but she graded it anyways and put it in the grade book. She just gave it back today and obviously nobody got over a 70% on it. When I asked her if she actually put the grade in she just yelled at me "Yeah. That's why you need to work hard to bring your grade up." ***?</p>

<p>If you don't wanna read all that stuff I just wrote she's just a lazy teacher who does not care about your grade. It means nothing to her and I doubt she even wants to teach. </p>

<p>What do you think I should do about this? Should I even be worried if this is just an elective? If so, what do you guys think I should do? I'm not the only one in the class with a bad grade. Her way of grading is just pathetic. Taking off points for socializing? I see her just sitting in her chair the whole class looking at people around the room giving them the look and taking points off.</p>

<p>If you guys want, I could take a picture of my gradebook and show you guys. The explanations she writes for some of the grades is just pathetic lol.</p>

<p>Since you’ve gotten use to her I don’t think it would hurt to be more attentive of how you act or what you do since you’ve gotten use to her grading. For example, if you know she doesn’t like the socializing or rolling around in your chair, try to do less of that.</p>

<p>You probably don’t understand since you’re not in her class. I sit there and do all the crap she gives us or at least I try to. Everyone else tries to and there are those kids who don’t do any of it at all. Nonetheless, the assignments I HAVE completed, she just doesn’t look at them. Like I said she hasn’t been here the past 4 class periods to give us any instruction on what to do with the assignments. Even though I’ve turned them in via google docs, I have zeros. When I asked her about grades and when other kids asked her about grades, she basically told us to stop worrying about it and talk to her later. As stated a LOT of people have F’s in her class.</p>

<p>For the days she graded me and put in a lower grade due to excessive socializing, I still completed the assignment. Not to say I never rolled around or talked a lot like many of my other classmates did. She’s jotting down random comments and grades. A lot of people got the exact same copy and pasted comment that I got.</p>
