I have a 4.24 weighted GPA on a 5.0 Scale and my UW is like 3.94.Just based on my grades solely, how good do I look to ivy leagues? I know there is WAYYYY more to a college application than just this.
The only thing that you can tell from a GPA only is if your chances go from the normal low rate to near zero. Your GPA doesn’t do that.
Like you know, Many colleges, especially selective, go for a holistic review of the application. GPA would affect your Academic Index, which is a measurement of your test scores and GPA, but Ivy leagues don’t disclose what their accepted indexes are and also range the AI differently. A near perfect GPA would look the best to an Ivy League but also each individual Ivy could have different average GPAs of the accepted applicants.
Without a weighting methodology, a weighted GPA doesn’t really tell us anything.
As noted, a 3.94 only tells us you’re not automatically in the extremely unlikely pool.
Your courses could be anything from all AP’s to all rudimentary, so without a list of courses, it hard to go beyond that. 3.94 could still be a no-go if they’re all non-challenging courses. But a rigorous course load with a 3.94 would at least earn an OK and further look at the rest of the application.
These schools have around a 5% admissions rate, which is much closer to zero than 100. If there was a method to significantly increase your odds, then everyone would do it, pretty much nullifying the whole thing.
