How do I make sure my club is successful?

After spending the last year being baffled at fact that my school has a hefty amount of clubs/organizations but only 1 of them is even semi-geared towards the biological sciences (Science National Honor Society), I’ve decided to start my own club–a medical club of sorts. I have everything planned out: the sponsor + the activities + spoken with my guidance counselor, but I know planning is not going to guarantee success. What are some things I can do to ensure my club is a success?

  • promote your club
  • if you have morning announcements, get your club mentioned in there
  • hang up posters on lockers around the school
  • spread the word around! friends can really help with this!
  • ask teachers who teach things related to medicine (like biology, ap biology, etc) to promote the club in their classes, perhaps take a few minutes to tell students what the club is about and why they should join

good luck

ALSO, I forgot to mention the most important thing. People love food. Get food at your first meeting - something good like pizza or chips, to get people to come. Most likely, they’ll come for just the food, but this is where you come in. Make sure that your first meeting is so good that they’ll come back, even if there won’t be food in future meetings
