I am an Indian male from Texas and I’m extremely interested in attending SCU. As I did not take many challenging classes in high school and also have few EC’s what else can I do to get me accepted? Also, what do Admissions look for the most at SCU?
Check the common dataset sections C7-C12. It should give you all the information needed.
@Gumbymom, my ACT/SAT scores are not up to par with SCU. Standardized testing has always been hard for me; I have horrible test anxiety. However, my GPA (a 3.688 which rounds up to a 3.69/3.7) is at SCU’s level.
I have a lot of really good extra circulars: a lot of school clubs (hold a leadership position in one), member in several honor societies (National Honors Society, Science National Honors Society, National Technical Honors Society, Math Honors Society), and a few activities outside of school. I am also taking a lot of Pre-AP and AP classes; as of right now, I am an AP Scholar. My school is also offering a new AP two year course called AP Capstone which I have done well in. Because I am taking this course, I am also a candidate for an advanced diploma (similar to an IB diploma). From what my teachers have been told by the CollegeBoard and several college admissions officers, AP Capstone looks very impressive on a college application.
P.S. I’m so sorry for writing so much! SCU is my top choice and I’m in love with the school and its atmosphere. Thank you!
