How do interviews work?

Hey everyone.
I was under the impression that after your application is submitted, Harvard contacts you for an interview - but I can't actually find anything on their website that says this!
Have I missed my opportunity, or is that actually how it works?
Thanks. (:

Should be, there must be enough alums in the Houston area. Just relax and give them a little while.

What Redmondo said. I sent my RD app in and an alum in my area contacted me about one-two weeks later to schedule an interview.

I submitted my application about seven weeks ago and have not been contacted at all. However, I did receive a personal reply from a senior admissions officer that inquired into a particular aspect of my information; so yes, my application went through. I will perhaps give them a couple more weeks before I decide to contact the admissions office. (Also, I live in a very populated area.)

I got my interview email about a month after I submitted my application (I submitted in late November). I think it’s pretty much random because my friends that applied last year were doing interviews in January and February. There are definitely enough alums in the Houston area (since that’s where I live too). So you’ll most likely get it in the weeks to come.

^^ that’s interesting - I didn’t know adcoms took such detailed interest in individual applications. that’s reassuring, and probably a good sign for you! If you don’t mind, can I ask what their inquiry was concerning?

and soccer, that’s good to know. thanks. (:
