how do meal plans work...?

so with a "blue 14" meal plan, you get 14 meals a week...but where do you eat these meals, is it one common buffet or something? like on college day?

and also, are you allowed to bring mini-fridges in your dorm rooms?

Any of the 4 dining halls or 3 boutiques.

Dining Halls - buffet - De Neve, Covel, Rieber, Hedrick
Boutiques - individual meal set - Bruin Cafe, Rendezvous, Crossroads

On paper, fridges are allowed, but not standalone microwaves.

ok, so theres a 14, 11, and 9, and those are the # of meals each week right? whats the difference between regular and premiere?

Premiere gives you a lot of flexibility. Basically, you get to use them whenever and however often you want.

You get all of the meals at the beginning of the quarter and it only expires at the end. Multiple swipes (for yourself or guests) is possible during one meal dining (time) period.

ohhh ok so if you have regular, you only get one swipe per dining period, as opposed to as many as you want with a premiere?

No, with premiere you might get like 500 meals (I'm making this up) and you can choose how you want to spend it. You could spend like 14 one week, and 14 one week, 22 (swipe in a bunch of your friends) the next week, and 12 the following week. WIth regular you can swipe once during the meal (for yourself). With premier, you can swipe your friends in (so 2 or 3 times). The swipes still count out of your 500 meals though, so you're not getting 3 swipes for 1 out of the 500.

No, with regular you don't get one swipe per dining period (as there are more than 3 a day... and there are no plans with 21+ meals/week). You get to use up to one swipe per period.

So yes, with premiere you can use as many swipes as you want during a period, but you'll just be depleting your number of meals for the entire quarter very quickly.

so you can use the meal plans for the 4 dining halls or 3 boutiques but what about the other restaurants? do we use our own money for it?

Yes, you use your own money for the non-residential restaurants.

Or convert a meal swipe valued between $2 and $10 for a $1.60 voucher and pay supplemental cash. :)
