How do SAT scores work?

First time I took the SAT I got

Reading 650 Math 730 Writing 580

Then I took it a second time.

Reading 730 Math 650 Writing 650

My second SAT is higher so its better. However I want to major in computer science so the Math SAT is important for which my first SAT is better.

Should I send both scores or just one? If I send both will colleges care that my math score went from 730 to 650?

Common app asks for the Highest math score so does it matter that I got 650 on math the second time?

Also what's this whole thing about sending scores? Don't I just input them at common app. When and where do I have to send them?

Also I know most colleges only care about math and reading? So is my "score" 1460? The highest math and the highest reading? or is it 1380?

Will colleges think my first 730 in math was a fluke? Because I couldn't get it again the second time? Or will they think my 730 in CR was a fluke?

Also I heard the term being thrown around. What is a SAT superscore?

Also like what is my SAT score? Is it 1960 (first) or 2030 (second) or 2110 (highest scores from the two) ????

You must log onto your college board account and pay to send your SAT scores to all your schools. Do this quickly now to meet your deadlines.

In your case, you will want to send results from both test dates. Many schools use score choice, meaning they only look at your highest scores in each section regardless of the date of the test. For those you would have a R:730, M:730, W:650. For schools that do not do score choice, some want all scores and consider all scores and others consider only the highest single test result as a whole. Check with each of your schools to see how they deal with SAT results.

You don’t have to self report your scores on the common app, but if you do, you should report 2 sittings and the highest subscores as I noted above.

Colleges will not think your 730 is a fluke.
