How Do Withdrawals Affect an application?

I'm applying to the University of Minnesota (CLA) as a transfer student, and I have a pretty good record. I went to community college for a year and my GPA was 3.4 after the first semester. This fall, I was at a state university and ended my first semester there with a 3.6. As for high school, I have a good GPA of 3.7 and a decent, though not outstanding, ACT score of 25.

My big concern is my second semester of community college (spring 2011). The transition to college was difficult, causing anxiety problems, which caused me to withdrawal from three of the four courses I signed up for. I explained my reason in my application, and I don't have bad grades, just several 'W's on my transcript - one from my first semester and three from my second. Could this significantly hurt me? I feel that my chances are very good with the exception of this. I'm doing well this semester and will likely end with a term GPA as good or better than 3.6 (knock on wood).

Really, no one has any idea? I suppose it isn’t a common problem. Oh well, I can’t do anything about it now anyway, so I guess it doesn’t matter.

Withdrawing isisnt bad unless u have several of them. It doesn’t count against ur gpa, or hurt ur grade but it does look bad if u have to many. May show a lack of commitment to it classes. I think ur ok. I have two.
