How do you all go to top high schools?

My school is pretty good, I guess, #205. The bottom 50% really suck but the top 50% is fairly brutal.

my school has a mid-200s ranking Newsweek

My school dropped from 260 in 2003 to 420. Public school sucks.
But really, that formula is kind of silly. I mean, every senior could take 10 AP tests, but that doesn't mean they will pass them.

sometimes you get a sense of things just by going to 2-3 different high schools -- you also look at amount of people the high school landed in college at all and in top universities -- schools post stuff like that

overwise i think people just assume that if they went to private school and were drilled since age of 11 on SAT vocab than that is a top school

It all depends on your definition of "TOP". The top school in Louisiana might rank as a low school in California. A low school for AP kids might rank high for average kids. Too many differentials. You must do your homework and find the best school for your kids.
