How do you apply for UW Seattle with less than 90 credits?

Hi!

I am a community college student who is hoping to apply for UW Seattle in the fall of 2014. My major is bioengineering. On the UW seattle bioengineering website, it says that I must complete the prerequisites in order to apply. The difficulty I am having now is that some of the courses are not offered throughout the year at my college, so I may have to apply a year after spring 2015 in spring 2016. This is the reason that I'm hoping to transfer to UW in the fall, but I am not sure what the transfer process is if I want to get into bioengineering without completing the prerequisites. Currently, I'm in the second quarter, and by the end of this quarter, I will have 38 credits completed. If I take classes in the summer, I will have a total of over 40 credits. I know that UW accepts students with a minimum of 40 credits. Can someone give me some advice on the transfer process? What are the alternatives to the regular transfer admission process?

Really appreciate everyone's help!

Thanks.

I don’t know for a fact, but it sound like you could transfer to the UW but would still need to complete the 90 credits of prereqs to apply to bioE. That is like nursing and likely many other programs. You wouldn’t likely be able to transfer directly into the program unless, as it says, you have 90 and it’s likely competitive.

ok thanks which community college would you recommend? I’m thinking about transferring to edmonds community college or green river community college.
