How do you balance EC's and School

I think I'm goin to have a problem being able to handle my out of school activities and homework. How are you able to combat this problem. I have noticed that alot of you have like 50 EC's so I hope some of you have some tips

Hmmm, well I would tell you that I just took everything one day at a time, that each day recognize what needs to be done for the next day, and only consider long term things when important. Also, realize that there will be quite a few long days, and I hope that sleep is not your number one concern when you start to collect responsibilties. Other than that, there really is no strategy in doing many EC's, school and such, just don't get tired so easily.

I make sure that I always take a late bus home everyday, for some sort of activity. Also as soon as you get home, do your homework.

Hmm... yeah freshman, soph, and junior year all fall, some of winter, and all spring I wasn't home from 7:30am-9:45pm because of sports (XC and swimming in the fall, HS swimming and club swimming in the winter, softball and swimming in the spring)
I didn't get much sleep but I managed to get by... just don't get sick because making up all the work sucks so much. If you have a lot of work and you can do some of it in other classes or lunch I'd highly recommend it. Also take a day off every once in a while if you need it because it's better to do that than burn out or get sick and having your grades go down a lot or having to miss like a week of classes

I don't have that day off option

why not? your parents?

Nope. Im not going to behome. I'm going to high school in Houston and I'm in this there where some athletes from the Bahamas go to school in the Houston to play play sports. We train every day 2 twice a day during school and thats excluding the team's basketball practices. we only get like Sundays off

Don't worry it's still possible, I went to school everyday four years in a row so don't be too concerned, just take a nap whenever possible.

ah that's so cool. yeah you'll be fine esp since you have sundays off (i dont : ( lol).
i agree with the nap thing

You put them both on a precision scale at either end. Now, adjust the fulcrum likewise to ensure a perfect balance. If one outweighs the other, chances are both will fall off.

:)

I don't. I just do academics and play games at my house, but also a lot of stuff at other schools is bs. Like being a member of FBLA or Speech and Debate at my school takes like 4-5 hours a week for normal kids, while other schools you just go to the meeting and thats all. But then again our school does go to nationals quite a bit.

psh yeah Mock Trial at my school is 10+ hours a week in the winter, almost as time consuming as some sports at my school

Our competition clubs are like... have a meeting once a week for an hour, go home and, if you need to, do some prep according to how much time you have and want to spend, then go compete.

wow. that would never happen at my school. but then again at my school it seems like they just make everything as hard and time-consuming as possible, so i don't see why this is surprising to me

Oh yeah, I definitely agree with Tonty88's advice - take it one day at a time. Don't freak out. Remain positive.
