How do you deal with procratistination?

I don’t deal with procrastination. I’ll deal with it later.

go outside

Lol, I’m sure the OP finds all of this advice useful:rolleyes:
If anyone seriously has advice though, please post!:)

Colleges tend not to want people who procrastinate.

If you’re aiming high, just do the work. Or you WONT get into the college you want.

Speak of the devil, Im heading to the PL right now for 4.5 hours to get some work done.

^The library is actually a good idea…unfortunately I need a computer to do my homework:/
Regardless, have fun!

^Your library doesn’t have computers?

I said to myself when I get in college I will no longer procrastinate (hopefully not) and actually study in the library or some place WITHOUT computers sitting in-front of me. I’m on CC now. I am procrastinating…

It does but you have to pay for the time you spend on it. Stupid budget cuts.
^Lol, same.

To be honest, I don’t. I just do all the work at the expense of sleep. Last night, I went to bed at 12:30 and woke up at 5:15 this morning to do all my work.

Ugg…is there a way to avoid sleep deprivation?:(

yeah, the library works really well. they have computers there, but you can’t go on facebook or something like that so it keeps you from procrastinating.

i also like doing homework outdoors if the weather permits.

^Your library blocks facebook?

o.O

Mines too ^

I don’t. I really don’t know how to deal with procrasination. It is like an uncurable disease,

^I agree .:/

List what you need to get done and if possible avoid as many distractions as possible. Try to take short breaks between tasks.

im dead tired right now = procrastination ugh SO SLEEPY

I love procrastination. Mainly because my brain works best when it is flashing a deadline that needs immediate attention. So in response to the procrastination problem, I would always rewire my brain and set the deadline a day earlier, then repeat this date over and over in my head or write it down in my planner. This forces me to “procrastinate” earlier, but still not technically “procrastinating.” This is for assignments that require a long extension of time.

For shorter assignments, I often (like so many people suggested) turn off my computer first. Second, I take out all of my assignments and organize them into a specific order that I would like to complete them. Third, I set up the timer for 55 minutes each time to do homework, taking a five minute break after the timer goes off, then reset the timer and do more work.

Many times, I want to sleep badly in the middle of homework. I combat this problem by napping right after I get home for about 30 minutes to 1 hour, then wake up and do my homework.

I hope this help. Although different people prefer different methods.

I used to start my homework around 9-10 and go to sleep at 4 just to finish it.

But recently I’ve sleeping at around 10-11 : ]

2:40 School Ends
2:45 Arrive at Library
2:50 Enter Library’s soundproof study room
2:55 Rearrange sofa chairs, foot stool, and table to be comfy
3:00 Start homework
4:45 Noisy people come in (but by this time I’ve already finished a great deal of homework that I would have otherwise procrastinated on)
5:00 Get home and stay away from the computer (Now I work on a separate desk)
8:30-9:30 Finish all homework/studying
9:30-10/11 Internet, CC, Facebook, etc.

I’ve been following this for three days now. haha. So far so good.
I’m getting 8 hours of sleep instead of 3-4 now : ]

^ nice =]

I wish I could do that. I just don’t want to drive all the way to the library. o.O

Wow, your library has a soundproof room? Lucky! When I go to the library I am distracted by all of the loud people talking during their tutoring sessions. Goodness people, this is a library, be quiet so I can study!
