Hi, I was looking at scholarships at NC State, and I came across the Goodnight Scholarship, and I am really interested in it because I didn't apply for the Park Scholarship. However, I heard that there are only 600 people that are selected in mid-January. I really would like to be one of those people. I was just wondering if anybody knows the criteria for those selected students besides income and major?
Im a female who applied to be an applied mathematics major, am in the top 3% of my class, and got a 1430/1600 on my SAT (630 Critical Reading, but a perfect 800 on the Math portion), as well as listed tons of ECs on my application that are focused on STEM fields, music, and community service. Also, my essays and personal statement is how I overcame obstacles with a drug addict mother.
I guess I'm wondering if they select the 600 students based on academic merit or leadership/ECs? If so, do I stand a chance (even though I know you won't know 100%?) Thanks!

I believe this is for in-state only - right?

You are correct @MaterMia
