If you get accepted to UofM how bad do you have to do you senior year to get your acceptance revoked?

I’m wondering the same

Pretty sure just dont get any D’s or F’s…a couple C’s, like 2 C’s and then B’s and you’ll be fine. They just dont want to see you taking senior year totally off. I’d like to hear what others have to say about this as well seeing as my Calc and AP Envi Sci classes are killing me right now lol.

Yeah I’m thinking that same thing as ckl22. I think a significant change in your schedule (liek dropping all AP classes) could also cause your app to be rescinded.

When I transferred they told me nothing worse than 2 C’s, so I would guess they have either the same policy for incoming freshmen or a stricter one. Though I think it may also depend on the circumstances. I called them in a panic because my grades went off a cliff because I had been VERY sick for months, and they told me I would probably get some leeway and worst comes to worst may be able to just defer my admission until I retook the classes. I did end up getting one C and they laughed at me when I called to ask if it was okay. XD

I have collegecomp next semester but i think I’ll be dropping it because I’m already in AP Lit n Comp. I might fill that void being a cadet for my former physics teacher or I could take an early release.

yeah I’d just try to not get worse then 2 C’s.

If you got into Michigan, I doubt most of you would have trouble managing All A’s and B’s even with slacking off. Heh, some of you even got into Michigan with a lot of slacking off =P

It harder than you think. A C in Calc didn’t even do it for me, and I’m in Engineering.

in my school, AP Environ. is the easiest class in the school haha (poor ckl22 :[)

I’m most likely going to get a 4.0 all year this year with my crazy hard classes. Sigh, oh well…

Moricarak: I know right man!? My teacher for the class is a GREAT guy, love the guy, but the language he uses on the tests are so complex and corky. Idk according to the coach whos recruiting me @ UMich (mens club lax) he said he’d be “shocked” if I didn’t get in ED since it has some pull in admissions and I put up a 1490/1600 and have a 3.75 even though I’m OOS. So I figure that since I have that hook that I’ll get in ED and then not have to really worry about getting A’s anymore just get B’s haha then once I’m in I can afford to get a C. Gahhh just can’t wait to see if I get a decision this Thurs!

For an acceptance to be rescinded, a candidate must pretty much screw the pooch! We’re talking something major like lying on the application and getting caught or really messing up their senior year by geeting three or more Ds in major subjects like Math and English.

There are a couple of stages that lie between a smooth acceptance and rescinding an acceptance.

1) A student has a couple of Cs and their senior year GPA ends up below 3.3. The university may ask for a written explanation as to why student got those Cs.

2) A student gets a D and a couple of Cs and their senior year GPA ends up below 3.0. The university will ask for a written explanation as to why the student’s grades dropped so dramatically and may proceed with placing the student on probation.

3) A student gets several Ds and their senior GPA dips to a point where they may not even graduate. The university moves to rescind the offer, unless a very valid reason is offered (death of a parent or sibling etc…)

@Alexandre: What about dead puppies?

I actually almost did fail a class this summer because my dog died. But the professor extended all my deadlines so I ended up being okay.

What about dead puppies???

How about if a drop $5? Is that enough mental anguish that I can get away with 3 Fs? What if Wendy’s forgets my fries in the drive through? What if it’s raining one day?

Death of pets or non-immediate family members (including aunts/uncles, grandparents or cousins) are acceptable reasons for a drop in grades, but not for getting Ds and p[ractically failing senior year. In other words, they may explain a couple of Cs, but not several Ds.

I certainly hope Umich isn’t letting anyone in using dead pets as an excuse…

ckl22 and Moricarak, AP Environmental is hard at my school too! It used to be one of the easiest APs until the teacher who taught it retired and two other teachers took it over. They are good teachers but they are SO hard on us! How frustrating.

pretty much start smoking pot and skipping classes
