UF IS UF, That’s perfect. Apparently Gainesville sucks to the point that Gaytors must ■■■■■ FSU forums to find peace with themselves. Honestly, no one has a care in the world for ignorant idiots like you that think UF is godlike. Go compare your UF diploma with a Harvard grad, learn the different between two TIER 1 unviersities or an IVY (Which UF is not, nor ever will be).

Oh and, nice little forum thread about whether to apply to FSU or UF… :

I dont get why UF is so hard to get into
I mean my uncles friend applied and got rejected, and it was his life aspiration to go there, he dad like 3.8 gpa weighted, and high ass test scores, FSU aint for UF rejects, its just based on preference, i would never go to UF even if i did get accepted, which i would have to apply first, which aint happenin.

“Why is everyone so sensitive about UF vs. FSU?”

you called the FSU students rejects on a message board for FSU and you thought that was amusing?
good natured rivalry is one thing, derogatory comments are another.
I work with lot of UF graduates who have the same kind of attitude… so I guess you hit a nerve…it gets tiring and one has to wonder if UF is so great, why do they have to tear down another school?

@xSidx
I had a very hard time deciding between the two but in the end I decided with UF because of a better financial award.

I am sorry if I offended anyone with my posts. I just wanted to show you guys how insecure you are about UF. Does it make your school less worthy if someone on the internet says so? NO!

Desi, your comment was offensive period. Insecurity has nothing to do with it. You blatantly put down the school the students on this subforum attend while praising your own. Honestly, what were you expecting?

I don’t see how anyone’s response has reflected insecurity. We’re only making fun of you, your student body, and your fanbase for being elitist arrogant ******bags.

Guess what!? You’re a public school in the state of Florida. Being a few spots ahead of us in the rankings doesn’t make you the Harvard of the South. Harvard is the #1 school in the world according to US News. UF is the 17th best public school in America according to the same source. Big difference.

As others have said, I know more than plenty that either went to FSU despite getting into the ever prestigious UF, or didn’t even bother applying to UF at all.

When is the last time you saw an FSU student trash UF on the UF forum? Who’s insecure here?

I think its only fair that you come to Doak on November 27th with a large poster with your College Confidential name on it, so we dunk you in one of the many fountains found on campus. Then we’ll see how inferior our fountains are to the glorious and most prestigious University of Florida. :)

I know yall are talkin about though, UF students or alumni always seem to talk **** about Florida State students, ive never heard of Auburn talk **** to Bama, cause there higher on the list, same with Duke and UNC, and Michigan and Ohio State, yall seem like the only ones. If any of are rivals have room to talk its University of Miami, not UF. Keep the **** talkin about sports, not the school, personally FSU is better when it comes to traditions in my oppinion. So Florida’s football team has been good lately, they still lost to Bama.(that game sucked it didnt know who to go for, i hate both of there ass’)

“I just wanted to show you guys how insecure you are about UF. Does it make your school less worthy if someone on the internet says so? NO!”

insecure??? no, I just take offense when I go to a board dedicated to providing intelligent information to students and their families and have to endure an insult by someone who has no need to be here.

I will tell you that I told a couple of my gator co-workers what you wrote and they were surprised and felt it was an inappropriate thing to do.

That’s right! UF won’t even play The U (since the 80’s), FSU has always had my respect because they always do play my Canes. And we have the best time with our Nole friends during Football season, we both love this friendly rivalry.

UF wasn’t even a consideration for my daughter, who will be a Poli Sci major; and FSU has a far superior program. It’s what school is a better fit, period.

I don’t know what they feed those previewing students at UF, but geez - a couple of championships in the last decade really went to that reptile’s head…

" I don’t see how anyone’s response has reflected insecurity. We’re only making fun of you, your student body, and your fanbase for being elitist arrogant ******bags.

I really, really hate to call you out on your hypocrisy, Matt, but i’m about 100% sure that you originally intended to go to UF but only ended up not going because you weren’t accepted. I don’t feel like wading through all your pro-FSU rah rah posts to find it, but I recall you saying that you grew up a Gator fan and that it was your aspiration all through high school to go there.

For someone who talks such a big anti-Gator game, you really seem to lose track of your own lies. And please, don’t act like FSU doesn’t have its share of **bags either. You think FSU students don’t talk down to USF/UCF/etc. students? You think there aren’t FSU students that are just jerks in their own right? Get real. It’s a pecking order. And I bet if FSU gets on top of the in-state rankings in the future, our students will be just as **bagish as some UF students are. It’s not like FSU has better people going there or anything. When you have the stats to back up your superiority, you have every right to trash talk. IF anything, it should motivate FSU to get their stuff together and take back the state if they want to be on top so badly.

You don’t see any of that here. We don’t trash USF and UCF as being FSU’s rejects because it’s not true. That’s not to say no rejects of FSU go to USF and UCF; it just means they have plenty students that go there as their first choice. It’s a similar situation with UF and FSU. Sure, some of FSU’s students were rejected by UF, but based on people I know, I can tell you that the number of people who didn’t apply or got accepted by UF far exceeds the number of people that used FSU as a fallback option.

You don’t need to wade through any posts. I’m more than fine admitting I didn’t get into UF. I’ve done quite alright at FSU, and I’m more than confident I could get in as a transfer if I wanted to, but that’s not even something I’d consider. The rankings have nothing to do with the caliber of students. FSU’s student body is much stronger than many schools ahead of us in the rankings. IE: Drexel is ranked ahead of us, and begged me to even apply to their school. Auburn, Alabama, and Iowa State are three other examples of schools with virtually no admission standards that are also ahead of us in the rankings. That said, I have confidence in our current president, Eric Barron, to right the ship and improve our reputation. His leadership certainly seems to be a big leap in the right direction.

Now, please stop using possessive terms to describe FSU. Whether or not you actually went to FSU, you are not a Seminole.

Can we stop the banter between arrogant fools like disgruntled, and please return this topic to its original focus before it was perverted by the pathetic excuse for human life (Desi), and now the “disgruntlednole” (who apparently doesn’t like that fact that he goes went/goes to FSU??). Thanks!

All this nonsense doesn’t help Nole babies at all.

You’re absolutely right, Matt. Every student at FSU is some sort of perfect individual without any moral or personality flaws whatsoever. Every single person at FSU is completely friendly, unpretentious, and non-elitist. I’m very curious as to how you’re able to purview the inner thoughts and tendencies of all 40,000 students at the university. Maybe it’s some sort of secret ESP project they’re testing on students up at the Mag Lab in Tallahassee.

And for the record, I’m not actually bashing FSU’s reputation or entrance standards. The school has requirements higher than those of schools 20, 30, even 50 spots ahead. I think much of the situation is political as the school is mostly held back due to the disastrous engineering school situation.

I just get perturbed by this “good vs. evil, we’re perfect and they’re terrible” mindset that perpetrates FSU’s student body in regards to UF. I mean yeah, UF no doubt brings out the ****bag in some of its students, but that comes with the territory of being the big dog in the state. I’m sure 30 years ago when FSU was on top academically it was the same situation. Stop acting like you’re all angels. I’ve met plenty of **holes at both universities.

Disgruntled ■■■■■, would be a better name IMO.

Less online raging please. It’s a shame that UF students focus more energy in mocking other schools on the internet then at the gym. Hence the overweight Gator Nation.
