<p>Heyyy I'm currently a student at the other UR (Richmond) and I can't stand this place. Originally Rochester was a school I was very intrested in but the warmer weather drew me to VA. I got in to Rochester with a scholarship but was bound by early decision :( The whole reason I do not like Richmond is the type of people, extremly rich, stuck up, overly conservative, and rude. Also frats/sororities are the deal breaker here socially. If you aren't in one you are reminded of it when all nightlife shuts down here during one social. Basially I love my campus, classes, ect but I do not have enough close friends here that share similar intrests/attitudes. I would basically like to know how anyone that attends Rochester likes it there. Types of people, quality of life, social life, frat/sorority scene, ect. </p>
<p>I've toured Richmond and can see where your coming from. There should be some info on the archives about the "colder" UR, or maybe just PM some of the current students on the UR board. Good luck whatever you decide!</p>
<p>i'm not a student at rochester just yet-- was accepted but haven't made any final decisions. what i could tell based on my visit to rochester and the people i know who attend/attended is that people like it; everyone i've spoken with has had/is having a great time there. i don't think the frat thing will get in your way at all; definitely more chill up there than at richmond, based on what you say. obviously, i'm not a student there, so i don't know how how valid my statement is, but if, when i'm making my decision in march, rochester doesn't win, it will definitely not be because of the social scene. (i also hear they get a lot of good music-related events because of eastman, so that should provide some good social activity). good luck with your decision :-D</p>
