How do you like your new dorms?

Now that people are starting to get moved in, I thought I'd start a thread to discuss how people like their new dorms. :)

My dorm is definitely smaller than I anticipated, BUT it has high ceilings, a hardwood floor, and a BATH TUB. It also had a window unit AC installed when I came in. I am praying that somebody is not going to be coming to uninstall it, now that I have experienced a room that is actually hot without it I am trying to get my asthma paperwork in order. This room is much hotter than last years was. I do have to loft my bed, but I got a big step stool instead of the ladder to use that I am more comfortable on, and with the high ceilings it's not bad at all. And the couch fit. :P

How about you guys? Good? Bad? Any funny parent stories? My dad was so frustrated by the time we left target that he ran a red light.

Moving furniture around for lofting was irritating.

As for opinions, they are horribly depressing, in a way that is also kinda amusing. So its all good. I just wish there weren’t buses braking right outside my window every so often.

You will get so used to that sound eventually you will barely notice it. I think there was a bus stop right outside my window last year. This year my room is right next to an elevator, so it will be interesting to see if that is annoying.

amazing everythings just amazing

Soooldmoon, I take it you got all of your appliances okay and you’re all sorted out? Enjoy the SOM!

Well I’ve already had to call fix-it. I just woke up to find my room half-flooded because the window unit is pouring water out the bottom.

The good news is, somehow I don’t hear the elevator in my room.

kmccrindle, yeah I moved in pretty early and got enough time to explore the whole campus. Everything’s fantastic here. My schedule’s pretty full and I’m working on it right now…but…thankyou for everything and I’m really glad I chose to come to Michigan!!! Made the right choice!!!
