How should i start..... any suggestions?

Writer’s block is almost epidemic among all writers, even great authors. So ask around. Do your parents remember any (even small) event in your life that could create a good story or shows your uniqueness? And don’t think that this has to be about something earth-shaking. It is about you and, for most of the kids applying to college, your lives are pretty common. But YOU have a different reaction than they do and that is what the colleges want to hear. Was there ever something scary that happened to you? silly? If you were to die tomorrow (God forbid) what would your eulogy be? How do you want to be eulogized 60 years from now? Good luck.
And, when you do decide on a topic, I think it is even ok if someone suggests a first sentence to your essay and you run from there.

This is what I do:

Get off the computer. It’s easier to write an essay on paper.

Do the stream of consciousness. Think about things you do and write them all down. Even if they’re random. For example, I jotted down violin, tennis, skiing, basketball, math, neighborhood, and video games.

Choose 1 or 2 that you think are best. They should tell the most about you!

Now start.
