How does grade transfer from a community college?

Okay I'll be entering into Indiana University Bloomington as a freshman next year and I took several classes at my community college that will transfer there. I received a 93(A-) and at IU, they consider that a 3.7 gpa. So when I get over to IU does that mean my GPA will start at a 3.7 or do they not include this into their gpa?

At my school its not included in GPA. Only classes taken at the school are factored in your GPA.

Ask your school.

GPA does not normally transfer, only credits do. This means you will begin with no GPA at IU and have a clean slate to work from. In turn, your CC GPA will always remain what it is, regardless of how you do at IU.
