Every university seems to do it differently. Does it include freshman year? Does it include senior first semester? How many classes can be given the AP/honors bump? Does it look at pluses and minuses?

To my knowledge- yes, yes, as many as you took that are listed as Honors or AP or IB, and it depends on the percentages used (schools usually show on a transcript what percentage an A means, etc).

yeah you’re right(:

“From US schools we calculate a GPA from grades 9,10,11 and 12 and we calculate on the 5.0 scale. A 0.5 boost is given to honors courses and 1.0 boost is awarded to AP courses. We do not have a limit on the amount of classes that can be awarded this boost. We also take pluses and minuses into consideration when calculating a GPA.” - Andrew Anderson
