Flash cards are useless, memorizing wouldn't stick! I'm considering making sentences right now. Perhaps that will help, I've had to look up the meaning of didactic thrice now. I love reading books though, thank God which is like 1/4th the battle won..any ideas? Thanks!

Well why dont flash cards work for you? If sentences work better, then try them.

Lolz i never forget the meaning of didactic because it comes from the greek word διδασκω, meaning to teach.

Keep a well organized notebook and always REVIEW. People always overlook how important this is. Another good idea is to organize a bunch of SAT vocab. such that the definition of one word is another word and two words’ definitions can’t just be swapped. This worked for me. You should find what works for you so any variations of this is good! —Hope This Helped! :)

Thanks so much!

actually i recite vocab by rote memorization without the use of notecards.
a coin has two sides. i think the important thing is what really suits u.
studying is very personal so there is no problem to go against the tide.

I actually think the best way to learn vocabulary is through reading books. Books are especially helpful for improvement of vocabulary because they allow you to see appropriate uses of words and give you a sense of which contexts the word is used. However, if you are cramming, I would suggest the SAT Score Raising Dictionary by Kaplan.

anthonygekko, you’re absolutely right. That’s why I was looking for innovative ways since memorizing wasn’t working for me!

asdasd77, that’s the best way for me but I am pressed for time. Thanks!
