I was wondering how dressed up people tend to be on a normal day at college? I realize that the majority of people on a college campus will be in t-shirts, jeans, and hoodies, but how common (or uncommon) would it be for girls to wear cardigans with nicer tops and jewelry, or guys to wear polos?

I wouldn’t blink an eye at that.

Yeah dude there’s no problem with that. A campus is a big place and you’ll see plenty of different people dressed in different ways.

No problem with it. It wouldn’t be common here, but that doesn’t matter. No one would think anything of it.

I don’t think it would impress anyone though, so only wear it because you want to.

I wear casual dress clothes all the time.

What’s a normal day?

Some days I’ll wear a polo and khakis and the next day I’ll wear a tank top. It really just depends 1) on how I feel and 2) if I wake up 30 seconds before class. My only advice is to not wear sweatpants to class… but nobody will really care.

When I visited my sister’s campus, it seemed as though everyone dressed the same as a typical high school. Some people looked dressed up, but the majority looked casual in jeans and T-shirts.

One day I might be wearing a polo, chinos and boat shoes and the next it might be trainers, camo pants and a band t-shirt.

e: My campus is a big state university and most people dress quite casually.

some people wear casual clothes pretty much every day, i know some who dress more formal everyday. it is a prefrence thing

I always wear nice pants and a collared shirt when I dress casual, t-shirts are just a work thing for me. I don’t know…I just like looking nice I guess lol.

I usually do a relaxed version of business casual every day, but once every two weeks or so, I’ll go full-on business casual. Once per month, I’d do t-shirt and jeans.

In any case, college is one of those places where you dress however you like. What you’re describing is well within place, and people will generally see you as someone who takes the effort to dress up more than average.
