How easy is it to get into Rutgers in state?

No it’s fine you assumed. After all I’d like honesty. I took 4 honors courses freshman year. I took all fairly challenging courses. I took 4 electives all of high school… I take all classes one year up (example - while most seniors take physics snr yr, i took it jnr; same with math)

Not ridiculously hard at all, definitely not easy.

and I applied to
School of Business - Not Admitted
Schools of Arts and Sciences - Not Admitted
School of Evironmental and Biological Sciences - Waitlisted

Though I didn’t apply, they put me in the Newark campus of business

I’m just really confused.

New Brunswick business only accepts around 400 freshman and has high SAT requirements.Average is around 1950.A lot of people get rejected from there but offered Newark as an alternative.

I am currently a junior in west orange high school. I am an NJ resident and i am hoping to attend rutgers new brunswick. Both the premed and business school seem interesting so I just hoped maybe someone with experience or knowledge could tell me my chances. Freshman year was a bitter struggle but then sophomore year i started to pick things up and I am planning for a solid 3.7 after junior year.

im also instate and planning on a 1900 SAT

will i get in?

A 1900 gives you a shot at NB business. Probably need to rank in top 10%. The higher the SAT and higher the rank the better your chance.

i will be having a gpa of 2.6 after junior yr and if i get straight A’s senior yr or atleast until 1 semester i will have a gpa of 3.1. and i have sat score of 2000, reading 630, math 710, writing 660. will i get into rutgers new Brunswick thank you to all the answers

With a 2000 you’ll get in to new brunswick.

You do not need a 1900 to get into NB business, but if it’s lower, your GPA should probably be relatively higher and you should have a decent class ranking. I know several people who got in with varying stats.

Quick question, do you think I can get into New Brunswick Engineering? (I just finished junior year, and I’m gonna be a Senior this year [yayyy!]) Stats:

Out of State

92.04 UW
94.6 W

SATS:
530 - Reading
610 - Math
510 - Writing

SAT 2s:
510 - French
560 - Math 1
610 - Math 2

ACTS:
26

APs:
Statistics
Calculus AB
Chemistry
French

I also took a math honors program (I am one year ahead of my grade in math).
I have taken a language for all of high school, band for all high school, i have about 300 hours of community service, JV and Varsity Field hockey, school awards for math and science. I’ve done wayy more, but I really don’t feel like writing all of my extra curricular activities.

If you really want to go you need to get the sat up - 1650 is on the low side for Rutgers

Well, if you convert my ACT 26 to SATs its a 1760…

I got into ( and am going) to Rutgers New Brunswick next year as an in-state student to the school of arts and sciences. I had a 2.82 GPA ( Mind you that I had a HUGE upward trend in my GPA) and my SAT score was a 1770/2400, 1190/1600. So I would say that you are a toss up, but Id put money on you getting in

What do you need for ACT?

Rutgers is very lenient, but there are also a lot of smart kids there because Rutgers is cheaper. I know a kid who turned down MIT because he had a full ride at Rutgers.

^I know a kid who turned down Harvard and Columbia for a full ride at Rutgers.

Then again, she wants to go to law school so it’s probably a good idea to come out of college debt free…

Yeah he wants to save it all up for grad school at MIT.

thank you NKBaseballbum18! yea, i retook SATs and ACTs and may be doing so yet one more time as the school year gets started, not so sure at this moment though. But, yea, my GPA is going up compared to my years past. freshman year I had like a 92 but i slacked a bit sophomore year and got an 88, but this year it went back up to a 92ish (and this year i took AP Stats and Chemistry [and the teacher I had fails or almost fails everyone]). ANYWAYS, thank you!

OH and i just got my other SAT scores. my critical reading went up to a 600 SO now i have:

1210/1600

is that okayy?

I know someone who got in with similar stats. Apply early.

got it! thank youu. i was planning on applying to all colleges early, just in caseeeee.

My son’s close friend in HS only ever wanted to go to Rutgers - his dad is an alum, involved in fundraising and on committees. So my son kept saying - of course he will get in. The kid applied only to RU and was rejected. He appealed (while his parents were pushing him to find other schools to apply to). He was told if he brought his grades up, they would reconsider him. End of the story, he did get in and just finished his first year. But no, they don’t accept everyone, even if your dad has donated money.

getting into Rutgers is fairly easy. I got into SAS NB with 2.73 GPA and SAT Score of 1530(including Writing). Almost everyone from my high school got into RU…
