I was just wondering…if someone goes to a UC for two years, is it easy to transfer to another UC for the remaining two years? Is this even common?

not that common

not quite as popular as jc to uc though

u need a pretty high gpa to transfer from uc to uc whereas from jc to uc u need to maintain and earn certain credit requirements

its actually very hard to transfer uc to uc, even if you have a high gpa. must provide a very strong reason why transfering is a necessity (almost never the case)

I think it actually depends which UC you come from and where you want to go. It probably true that UC transfers are rare going to UCLA or UCB... maybe even UCSD, but I think at the other campuses its probably more common.

How about from a private school to a UC, such as UCLA/UCSD

if youre not from a community college, then you're not priority when it comes to UC transfers. the UC's mission is to accept all qualified california community college transfers first... then they give consideration to other transfers.

it does happen.. sixthbatter transferred from ucsb to ucla

if going to UCLA is that big a deal go to CC and then transfer

UC schools give priority to xfers in the following order (says so right on their Pathways webpage): community college, other UCs, all other schools. It is more difficult than from a CC, and at the top ones may be almost impossible.

if you didn't get into the UC you want, just go to community college for two years and transfer, it's a lot easier. Plus students from community colleges have priority over UC to UC transfer students.
