For most of the schools most frequently discussed on this forum, that’s simply not true. The schools allow quite a bit of leeway for technical problems (with online app’s), postal delays (with mailed app’s), and just general, run-of-the-mill screw ups. They don’t screen for untimely submission and automatically send those app’s to the “reject” pile!

I’M DOOOOOOOOOOOOONE!!! Exeter stuff has been postmarked. All I need now: the Exeter interview and the FA stuff. (SSS by NAIS has been having problems. Choate extended their deadline to the 17th, but it still hasn’t been solved yet.)

Would anyone like to critique my Exeter and Andover essays? I’ve already sent both out, so there’s no going back right now, but at least I can make myself feel more confident about them and know what to do next year if I have to reapply.

@blehjoints: Choate says error messages, delayed submission, etc., but all I know is that IT’S FRIKIN’ MESSED UP. I’m really panicking about this… they promised to process the PFS within 24 hours normally, but it’s been a week. Even with the extended deadline I can’t get it in on time if they don’t process it.

Quit panicking! The Choate site is probably not working 'cause it’s temporarily overloaded. Just go to bed and submit it tomorrow.

As for the PFS, it takes as long as it takes . . . and promised processing times do not apply when they’re receiving hundreds of submissions all at once. THE SCHOOLS KNOW THIS.

Oh no. I literally just submitted Andover’s application at 12:00 because I was doing some last minute cramming, so it showed up as submitted on 1/16 Do you know what I should do? I don’t think the times show up when they look at it and I’m afraid I’ll be penalized and my chances for admission will be slimmed down… Ahhh!
