How fast is your AP Class?

Calc AB - Chain Rule
Statistics - Learning about coefficient of determination/correlation
Government - Linkage Institutions
Physics C:Mech - Projectile motion

Self-studying Art History, Comp gov, micro, and physics c e&m (no progress)

Chem - Predicting reactions (holy crap are we really that behind)
Gov - Presidential/Congressional election process
Calc BC - Parametrics & Vectors

AP Stats- Just finished talking about correlation and regression plots
AP Euro-Starting Absolutism
AP Physics B-Starting Momentum

AP Spanish Lang: we’re not really “doing” anything, just reading lots of short stories and having graded discussions (acabamos de terminar cuento numero 5).

AP English Lang: we just finished reading our first (non-summer) book and are beginning to do a speech analysis section. We also have a 5 page rhetorical analysis/synthesis combo, self-written prompt and self-collected source, paper due tomorrow.

AP Calc: recently finished chain rule and implicit differentiation, just started related rates.

Physics II (AP Physics): finishing up our in-depth vector and 2-D motion unit… that seems slow…

AP Bio: Finished our ecology unit, about to finish our evolution unit. We also went to see a lecture on genetics as it relates to cancer, embryo development, and stem cells, so we’ve been discussing that as well.

AP Calc AB- Finished related rates, I think were going to move onto extrema.
AP Psych- Starting on developmental psychology.
AP Physics- On potential energy
AP Eng Lang- I honestly don’t know what unit were in right now to be honest… just learning rhetoric…
AP Gov- finished public opinion a week ago, we’ve been presenting our quarter projects this week, so were not on anything atm.

AP Stats - We’re about to start Probability; we’ve done Sampling Methods, Categorical Data, Scatterplots, Experiment Design etc.

AP Chemistry - We finished Exp’t 2 and WaveLength; we’re on chapter 7 afterwards (on track).

AP Language - I really have no idea; we’re doing a bunch of things at one time and we do it by unit (we read a bunch of articles and rhetoric on gender roles and read the Scarlet Letter with it; done with that, effectively finishing the feminist unit).

AP US History - We’re on sectionalism and slavery on (chapter 13-17 on the The American Pageant)

AP US Gov - just finished federalism, starting Bill of Rights
AP Calc AB - About to start related rates, kind of wish we were going faster as im self studying BC…
AP Comp Sci - I dont even… teacher is all over the place
AP English lang - hate this class, we just read essays and talk about them. I feel no progression in the class, and I dont think Ive really learned anything
AP Physics B - its the second year of physics in my school, but we finished a mechanics review, and are having our test on waves this week. After waves, we do thermodynamics, fluids, then electricity, and we finish with modern physics. I think we are at a good pace so far.
Overall, I hate english, and I love comp sci, and I do think Im learning more about it, its just not as structured as I would like

Lol, I think I’m going pretty slow.
Physics C: just took a test on circular motion/projectiles/Newton’s laws
AP Calc BC: derivatives of trigonometric functions
AP Chem: still on stoichiometry D:
AP Psychology: the brain. We’re about 2 weeks behind the syllabus. ;/
AP Computer Science A (self-study): haha, no idea because I’ve had no time to teach myself anything.

Physics C- really fast, our class is full of smart kids so the teacher teaches us random stuff not even on the AP test
Statistics- super slow… I can’t tell you what I’ve learned
Psych- Neurology and stuff
Spanish Language- reviewing grammar rules and writing essays; I think we might have already learned all the tenses last year in Honors though

APUSH-We’re gonna be tested on the Revolutionary War stuff on Tuesday (reallly slow for my tastes. then again APUSH is boring, and I got moved into this class…)
AP Physics B-linear momentum (good pace)
AP CompSci–hard to describe but data types, variables, arithmetic (Chapter 6 on the Litvin/Litvin book…) (good pace as well)

Calculus (not really AP course, but the book seems to touch on all the AP Calc AB concepts): implicit differentiation. (it’s going a little too fast for me…)

Seems like my stats class is on pace.

AP Art History: Just finished Greek and Roman, going into Early Christian (decent pace, I believe)
AP Lit: We’re pretty much done with poetry by next week and then we get into plays (slow pace)
APUSH: Finishing the Industrialization topic/chapter, and then going into sectionalism and what not (hopefully decent pace)
AP Bio: We’re on chapter 15 in Campbell’s, so we just finished Mendelian genetics (great pace lol)

AP Psych - Just finished sensation/perception; on to development
AP Comp Sci - (Online) The suggested pace is ridiculously slow; I’ve finished the first semester of work and moved on to self studying arrays/inheritance from Barron’s, I have no idea where I should be for an actual AP Comp Sci course
AP Lang - We’ve done two timed argumentative essays recently after reading The Scarlet Letter, The Crucible, and Into the Wild.
AP Physics B - Definitely slowest pace class, just moving into collisions from kinetic and potential energy
AP Calc AB/BC (takes up two classes) - Finished applications of derivatives today ending with related rates/linear approximation/optimization; mammoth test coming up

Chem: We’re on chapter 11, which I’m guessing is pretty fast. We’ve just finished hybridization of orbitals.
Japanese: Um, yeah, hard to measure. We’re on ch 3 of our book?
Lit: Also hard to measure since it builds on an already present foundation.

AP Stat: Categorical variables, yet again. This class is unbearably boring. We go through the easy stuff at snail’s pace and whiz through anything moderately challenging at relative hyperspeed >.>

AP BC: Applications Of Derivatives (Chapter 4). I kind of adore this class for some reason.

IB Chem: Just started topic 4 (Bonding :D) This class is theoretically similar to AP…but I sense a great deal of self studying ahead.

APUSH: Just finished Unit 2 (Ratification to Jackson administration), starting the period before the Civil War next week

AP French: This class is a total joke, no structure or curriculum whatsoever from what I can tell. We are now watching some sort of 1960’s musical. Sigh.

AP Calc AB - second derivative test/concavity.
AP Chem - finished stoichiometry and electrochemistry, just started thermochemistry.
AP Language - haven’t even started! English isn’t full year at my school.

Our school starts kind of late (Sept 7 this year). I think its important to note when your school starts, especially more towards the beginning of the year. I know some schools start a month before we do.
AP Euro - We’re about to finish the French Revolution. Reportedly we get through our entire book soon after the second semester starts, and then we review for a couple months before the AP test.
AP Chem - Just finished thermodynamics… we’ve done chapters 1,2,3,4, and 6 in our book. I think we might be a little behind.
AP Stats - We’re about to finish with our 3rd unit out of 9, collecting data. Last class period our teacher let us talk and watch youtube videos for the last 35 minutes of class. Nonetheless, I know we’re going at a good pace because our current teacher uses materials and a guide from the previous AP stats teacher, who was reportedly very amazing (she was also credited in Barron’s).

^My school started the same day.
West coast and southern schools start in August I think.

Physics B- We’re spending a few days on torque, then moving om to fluids.
Spanish Lit- We’re wrapping up Borges. We read El Sur y La Muerte y la Brújula.

Ap calculus ab - working on approximation right now, about to start integrals
Ap world - just finishing han and Roman empires for the 2nd time around. We’re in the 500’s CE right now.
