How fast is your AP Class?

AP Physics B - Learning about and thermodynamics now

AP Euro - Just finished the religious wars and now starting on absolutism

AP Psychology - Starting on vision and perception

AP Calc BC (self Study) - Arc length

The only class I think the teacher is moving fast is my physics class..

What are you learning in your AP classes right now?

Too slow. I think some classes, such as Environmental Science, Statistics, Human Geography, Psychology, Calculus AB, Physics B, US Govt, Comparative Govt, Physics C Mech, Physics C E&M, Macro-Economics, Micro-Economics to name a few, could easily be semester classes (which most of them are in college) without losing any important material. At my school, only the Gov, Econ and Physics C classes are semester long, because AP Gov is a year long class covering both US + Comparative, AP Econ is a year long class covering both Macro + Micro, and Physics C is a year long class covering both Mech + E&M. I wish more were like this.

right now in AP Euro we also just got past the religious wars.

AP US Gov’t and still on public opinion. -Sigh.-

AP Environmental is moving extremely slow. My teacher sucks. Probably going to have to self study even though I’m in the class.

Otherwise I’m all good, I think.

My AP calc AB class: We learmed limits, continuity, derivatives with sum, difference, product, quotient, constant mulitple, chain, and implicit differentiation. We just finished learning related rates (I have no idea if we are moving fast or not. Could someone tell me?
My AP Stat class: We just finished sampling (like SRS or stratified) We are now learning Measures of Central Tendacy, graphs, and standard deviation.

APUSH - pretty fast I guess, at the louisiana purchase
psychology - also fast, at personality
english lang/comp - meh, working on rhetoric. average

@CSMathAsa yes your AP calc AB class is moving at the right pace. My school’s AB class is starting related rates today and when I took AB last year my class finished related rates at the end of the first quarter

AB: curve sketching, integration in 2 weeks
Physics B: impulse and momentum
Stats: just finished data transforms, categorical analysis
Gov: political parties
Econ: international trade

Dear lord, some of you guys are going by quick!

AP Chemistry: on-track compared to friends in other schools; almost finished with Enthalpy
AP English Lang: No idea, finished second book though.
AP USH: on the Guilded Age
AP Macro: have yet to start supply/demand charts
AP US Gov’t: about to finish constitutional stuff

Nota Bene: APUSH’s curriculum is spread out over US History I Honors and APUSH (USH II), so naturally, we have plenty of time to breathe compared to others.
Macro/gov’t are usually one semester courses in other places, so we can take a breather there too. Although with gov, we’re going in a lot more detailed than we need to, and Macro’s just bummed out honestly.

APUSH-late 1700s in which America is starting out as a single nation
AP Chem-Kinetics
AP Phys B-We learn Electricity and Mechanics together sorta so Pressure differences and forces(lol).
AP Calc BC-Volumes integration, with discs and all
AP French-eh idk

AP Bio: Finished the first 7 chapters and chapters 50 and 54 (Idk why we skipped).
AP Stat: Finished Linear Regression Lines.

Is this fast or slow?

AP Calc AB - Finding derivatives using the definition of a derivative.

AP Physics B/C - We just finished 2D kinematics, moving onto Newtown’s Laws.

APUSH - War of 1812ish.

Calc AB: applications of derivatives (your classes are going so fast!)

Physics B: we’re on gravitational forces, rotational motion, torque…I think we’re behind in that

Spanish language: we’re going over adjectives and doing a bunch of speaking and listening things

AP Chem: Fast, I guess? I really have no idea. We’re going to take a test over thermodynamics and electron configuration stuffs after fall break.

AP US: Fast. We’re at sectionalism, right before the civil war.

AP English Lang: Argument essays about to be turned in. I have absolutely no idea.

AP gov’t and just finished federalism… We are doing a case study (individual project) now, of which is not correlated with the book. Its about unemployment and how we would fix it in comparison to the republican and democratic views.

): Lol.

Physics C: We’re on projectile motion right now, seems kind of slow.

Statistics: Just learned about lurking variables and linear regressions, also kind of slow.

US Government: We are finishing up on the branches of government, solid pace (we do a practice AP test weekly)

World History: Finishing up on our Roman unit, feels very slow.

Can’t

We just finished the final draft of our first out of class essay. it was the 2008 argument essay (corporate sponsor in schools)

We discussed education as our first mini unit. And we’re starting our 2nd unit “Work”

We already learned logical fallices and toulmen. The ethos/pathos/logos etc.

Clac AB- just started chain rule today
Micro- just finished purely competitive firms, now starting monopolies
Lang- doesn’t seem like we’ve accomplished anything, we’ve written a few practice rhetorical analysis essays and learned a set of diction related terms
Bio- just finished photosynthesis/respiration, now starting history of DNA(not relevant, but Watson and Crick were such jerks, it’s amazing how they could get away with stealing their data from Roselyn Franklin)
Psych- just starting heritability

Bio - Finished photosynthesis/respiration about a week ago
Stat - Started influential points about a week ago
Chem - Just started thermo
English literature - Doing in class essays on passages
Macro- fiscal policy
Calc AB - starting critical numbers
