The Official What Are You Learning Now Thread

<p>Yeah I'm really bored so I'm gonna write out what I'm learning in all my classes. Follow suit if you're also bored!</p>

<p>AP English Composition - Hmm I guess "rhetoric". Yesterday we took a diagnostic AP test of 10 questions. I was the only person with a 9/10. 2 other kids got 7/10's and the rest got below 5. I was happy =]</p>

<p>AP World - We're in Chapter 20 of 'Traditions and Encounters'. So right now we're learning about "Western Europe During the High Middle Ages". Kinda interesting although I learned a lot of this stuff last year in my Honors Humanities (English + History) and AP Euro classes.</p>

<p>Band - We're doing Band crap. Our band sucks unlike my former band that I went to Rose Parade with freshmen year =[</p>

<p>AP Stats - We're in Chapter 5 of Practice of Statistics by Yates. We're learning about samples and stuff. Really easy.</p>

<p>Trig - I learned most of this last year in my Honors Alg 3/4 class but right now we're learning how to draw the trig functions rofl. I do my AP World homework in this class.</p>

<p>AP Physics B - Chapter 6 of Giancoli. All about Work and Power and crap. Pretty easy.</p>

<p>So what are you guys learning? =]</p>

<p>AP Bio - chapter 8 of Raven (energy and metabolism)
AP Chem - test tomorrow on chapter 3 of Brown
AP Gov - chapter 7 of Wilson (parties)
Multivar calc - just had test on vectors (we are going really slowly because we are meeting once a week to finish a semester course in a year)
English H - we just started Dante’s Inferno
Spanish (11)H - house vocab</p>

<p>AP Gov- constitutional convention
Religion- the meaning of life
Spanish 5- reading a story (we haven’t actually learned anything yet)
AP Stats- least squares regression
AP English- We’re learning how to write the essays for the AP test
advanced physics- Newton’s laws</p>

<p>AP gov - federalists vs antifeds
AP Spanish - adjectives
AP Eng Lit - Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man (I hate this book)
AP Physics - Newon’s laws</p>

<p>Yeah I’m only taking 4 classes…already exhausted all the AP’s at my school except Art Studio</p>

<p>Phys Anthro- Uh, nothing. Took a test today.</p>

<p>Spanish 3- Playing catch up for how bad our previous teacher did with us. </p>

<p>Chem- Nothing. Horrible class. We were taught today that if we didn’t learn sig figs that we would essentially be homeless one day. My teacher is a jerk.</p>

<p>AP English- Mmm. Nothing. Oh the “Hero’s Journey.” And watching Cool Hand Luke. </p>

<p>AP Calc AB- Derivatives. </p>

<p>AP World History- Took a test today on basically the ancient religions as well as the ancient empires through like 600 CE??</p>

<p>Chem- Poly Ions.. Element Stuff
Accounting- Completing Cycle…
US History… Women in the work force, after the civil war, etc
English- Great Gatsby
Spanish III, reviewing Reflexive, Imperfect, body parts
Pre-Calc… Dividing polynomials && Graphing them</p>

<p>AP English: Reading/studying The Kite Runner</p>

<p>AP Calculus BC: Derivatives/Chain rule</p>

<p>Economics: I don’t even know I don’t pay attention in this class at all</p>

<p>Physics: Finishing up chapter 3 in Giancoli</p>

<p>Hebrew: Reading some random story and learning future tense.</p>

<p>AP English - Nothing in particular. Just a bunch of different things.
AP Calc AB - Derivatives (almost to Chain Rule).
AP Microecon - Perfect Competition.
AP Physics B - Derivatives and Center of Gravity.
AP Human Geo - Folk and Popular Culture.
Oceanography - Ocean currents.
Psychology - Memory.</p>

<p>AP English Lit: Macbeth and Research papers (I have Darwin, super happy about it :D)
AP Calc AB: Implicit Differentiation
Bio II: Macromolecules and project about global warming
Government: Final exam tomorrow…Then to economics…Damn required courses…</p>

AP English: We’re reading the Canterbury tales. I recited the prologue in middle english today in class.
FST: Parent functions
Yearbook: Deadlines, lol.
Physics: Electricity, unit 3
Bible: Epistemology and Knowledge</p>

<p>AP Calc- we just finished the chain rule
AP Bio- we just finished cells
Women’s history honors- colonial women
Physics honors- waves and such
Film- we just finished watching “McCabe and Mrs. Miller”
And then there’s my art classes (art IV and photo) which are personal projects and my mentorship in physics (electronic circuits and fiber optics).</p>

AP English Lit - Hamlet
AP American Gov’t - Unit 2 of the IPLE curriculum, preparing for We the People states</p>

<p>IB History of the Americas - Civil War (hmm…this sounds familiar)
IB English - Reading and analyzing “Heart of Darkness” (its sooo hard to comprehend)
IB Japanese - Sleeping (this class is sooo boring!)
IB Biology - protein structures (must not procrastinate…big test coming soon)
IB Pre-calc - radians (way too easy…you call this IB!?)
IB Psychology - synapses (this class is fun!)</p>

<p>english III honors (brit lit)- middle ages of england, quiz tomorrow
spanish III honors- just read a story, nothing special
relgion III honors- just read like 100 pages on the pentateuch. test tomorrow
us history II honors- we’re looking at cities during/after industrial revolution…i know its boring
ap calc ab- reviewing derivatives/limits, intermediate value theorem
ap physics b- we’re gonna learn about energy tomorrow</p>

Honors English 11: Canterbury Tales
Drivers’ Ed: Adverse conditions on the road, skids
AP US Govt: How people vote, modern media influences
AP French: Fables of La Fontaine, various grammar things in review
AP Chem: Just tested on % composition, balancing reactions, etc.
Wind Ensemble: Lots of holiday music, scale practice</p>

<p>I’m learning that I got super unlucky w/ my **** teachers this year. THe other AP teachers give easy 100’s but my one refuses to give anyone above a 70 basically</p>

<p>Wow you guys have some awesome AP classes! I go to an uncompetitive public so barely anyone takes advanced classes but anyway:</p>

Spanish IV: um…various stuff…reviewing a lot
Physics: Projectiles
Advanced (“High Honors/Low AP” as my teacher says) Chem: Thermodynamics (Ch. 5 and 19 in Brown)</p>

<p>Humanities (2 hour class)- test on Monday over Greek, Hebrew, Macedonian, etc. art, literature, history, architecture, philosophy
Aerobics- pilates
AP Calc- implicit differentiation; test on product, quotient, and chain rules, trig derivatives, etc. tomorrow
German IV- business German unit
AP Lit- reading Native Son, turning in a paper on Crime and Punishment on Monday</p>
