I'm looking at applying there, and I hadn't even heard of SAT IIs until about 3 days before I signed up for them. I just got my results back and my scores are

Math I: 770
US History: 760
Math II: 790

I know I probably shouldn't have taken both Maths, but I did, and those are the three I'm submitting. So A) How good are those? And B) Do I need to submit another score at a later date?

Thanks
I didn’t know if they would look down upon me taking both Maths, or how much of a bearing that would have in the end anyway. If the general consensus is that I need to take another test, and I can probably get ~720 on chemistry, but if those three are fine, then all the better.

Although test scores are very important, they do not constitute everything. A person who applied to Harvard in my high school last year submitted a Latin SATII score of 590. Yet, amazingly enough, she was the only person accepted to Harvard in our class.

depends on what you are planning on going into…usually people don’t take 2 maths…if I were you I would probably take another one…Math 1 and 2 are basically the same thing

Hey im an international applicant and i scored
800 (Math 2)
800 (Bio M)
770 (Physics) :S
Should I take Physics again? Isnt 770 a bit too low? Cos physics has a very lenient curve anyway…

OP: take chemistry. If you can score above a 700, it will only supplement to your application. On top of which, Harvard prefers your SAT subject tests to be in different subjects. I don’t know Harvard’s policy, but many schools do accept Math I and Math II as two separate tests. The scores themselves are fine, try and get a 750 in chem, and I think you’re set.

From H’s website: “To satisfy our application requirements, applicants must take three SAT Subject Tests, and students may choose any three subjects, with the exception of the English Language Proficiency Test (ELPT). Applicants may wish to convey the breadth of their academic interests by taking tests in different subjects.”

IDK about Harvard, but last year when Princeton used to have a 3 subject tests requirement, they did accept Maths 1&2 as distinct scores, because a cousin of mine got in with Maths 1, 2 and Physics. I have my fingers crossed about this, because I’m planning on giving only Lit, and Maths 1&2.

I think my question was slightly misinterpreted by some people. I know Harvard will accept the two Maths, I just didn’t know if it would be looked down upon.
