How good is financial aid?

How likely is it to receive merit scholarships or aid?

Stats:

GPA: 4.34w, 3.9uw
ACT: 32
Ethnicity: Hispanic
Good EC’s, volunteer work, etc.

What has been your experience in financial aid? More given for merit or need?? Help, please!

You should apply for the Morrill scholarship--it sounds like you would really qualify. You'll probably get invited to the Maximus Competition too, which is at least 2700/yr in merit money, with the chance to compete for more. I can't tell you much else, except that if you're a National Merit Finalist there's a good chance you'll get full tuition. My aid came from that and the Morrill Scholarship, plus state and federal grants and external scholarships.

OSU offers excellent merit based scholarships to good students. As Chrys mentioned, there are several sources from which you could get these $$. Some departments even offer their own scholarships.

Are you IS or OOS?

I'm OOS. But I've heard they reduce tutition to in-state price as a scholarship...I'm kinda hoping for more.
