How good should mid-year reports be if...

a. you are deferred ED?

b. you are applying RD?

c. you are already accepted ED?

How good should mid-year reports be if...

a. you are deferred ED?

b. you are applying RD?

c. you are already accepted ED?

a. Amazing
b. Still really good
c. Not terrible

if you're accepted ED you just have to maintain B's or higher basically, one or two C's is okay, but don't let them slip below that

A. If you were Deferred, you need to have a strong upward trend.

B. If you're already a strong candidate and are applying RD, a sideways trend in GPA, as long as you're taking hard classes should be fine. If you need a boost in admissions, you should have an upward trend.

C. If you have already been accepted, as long as your GPA doesn't fall from a 4.0 to a 2.0, you should be fine.

what if you are taking much harder classes this year? i was deferred but my grades went down a little bit so does that mean i'm totally f***ed? ughh this sucks i really want to get in!! i submitted new sat2 scores though so i'm hoping that will compensate for the grades...sort of lol

are these Cs I can't have too many of final grades or quarter grades?

aaaa12// my mid-year report sux as well... i have good sat ii scores though

last year i had all honors classes and this year all APs. my grades remain virtually the same - A's in history/gov, english, etc. B+/A- in calc/bio/physics. does staying stable when the difficulty of the class increases amount to an upward trend?

Yeah I think that would qualify as a strong trend.

My mid year grades were awful and I was deferred the prob was I had mono the entire semester which my GC wrote about, you think they will understand?

No, probably not.

However, there are other factors for admission besides the midyear report.

It really just depends what "awful" is for you. But no, they won't understand.

I think if your GC wrote you were sick w/mono then they're going to automatically reject you/rescind your acceptance because people who are smart enough to go to Cornell aren't the types who would kiss creepers carrying MONO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hah...but for reals, if you were genuinely sick the whole time and you had good grades every other yr I think they'd understand.

wow another friend of mine had mono whole first semester!!!
