I am taking AP Bio next year as a junior along with ap English and a full honors schedule
So I have a few questions:
On average how long did homework take for ap bio
What was your grade and ap test score
And how much studying did you need to do before tests and the exam?
Of course any other information will be helpful, thanks
The content itself is hard. But it really depends on how good your teacher is. I had an excellent teacher, so even though the material was challenging, I was able to grasp it and it wasn’t as bad as it could have been. Now to answer your questions:
Nightly, we got around 30 minutes of homework. They were usually worksheets that just reinforced the learning and you could find the answers for online (NOT THAT I RECOMMEND YOU DO THAT). Again, this is solely based on your teacher. I know at some schools, AP Bio students get a lot of homework. Sometimes it’s a ton concentrated on one day, other times it’s distributed throughout the week (like with my class).
I got an A first semester and an A second semester as well. I am a 4.2 GPA student (4 B’s, 11 AP’s), if that gives you any idea of what type of student I am. I haven’t gotten my score back yet, but on the practice test, I got between a 4 and a 5.
I had to study a TON before the test/exam. It is a rigorous class, and since the homework for me wasn’t all that helpful, I had to do some independent study (as in, I had to go beyond what we were taught/received in class)
The AP exam is challenging. You have to know specific examples of the material you learned. For example, you won’t be successful if you just know what polyploidy is. You have to know of some specific disease that’s caused by it.
If you’re interested in a career in biology or medicine, I would highly recommend that you take this class. It is worth it.
Good luck!
Our class was seriously hell. My teacher killed a tree everyday to print out all the worksheets we got. Our class was borderline insanity. But this made the exam relatively easy for me. Our bio teacher taught all 56 chapters in our text book. We had a chapter every 2 days. Also our bio teacher focused on human systems a lot so rip( by far the hardest part about AP Bio, only thing close was molecular genetics). I got an A in the class, but I scarficed my sanity for it
