Considering how competitive the school is + the large % of Asians, is it much harder for International Asians? What kind of SAT range is required for a decent chance?

international as in you’re oversea right now? or are you in america, but not a citizen.

Do you have money? If you do, then your good.

you have to consider a lot of factors.
if you are currently NOT studying in america, but at a local school in your country where the curriculum is different from that in american high schools (i.e. no AP classes) then you have to find other ways to boost your application.
generally if you’re placed around top of your class, and score above 2000 on your SATs, you have a pretty good chance.

note that if you’re under the British system, UC don’t count 12th grade as high school graduates because technically you guys “finish” high school at 13th grade (and have 3 years of college…etc).
so pay attention to that as well.

depends how tight she is

@OP, I have no idea how to quantify that question… It’s the same as everyone else I guess. I’m international, and Asian, and basically I just attempted to pwn my SATs and have awesome extra-curriculars and good grades. Oh, and a kickass essay. You can’t go wrong with that. (:

Not being ELC puts you at a disadvantage. How significant I’m not sure. However, California has affirmative action that, according to a 2005 report found on another thread, mostly negates the usual impact race has on admissions. I recall the author of the report saying that being Asian is the equivalent of having a couple of extra Bs rather than As over the course of high school.

Actually, Berkeley is really poor now.
They doubled international acceptances last year.
I assume that it will stay the same or even increase next year.
So yeah as long as you are in like 2300 range like other international kids, then your good.

I’m international, and my SAT isn’t in the 2300 range
And I’m pretty sure they’re increasing enrollment targets for internationals this year, so it should be even easier to get in.

I’m not going to comment on my SAT scores, but I agree with meakame.

Unless you’re a huge failure or get 1800 SATs (which is low for most internationals) then you should be fine (:
