How hard is it for an international to get in with a financial aid at Cornell?

I'm trying to decide whether I should apply with or without financial aid or not... Does anyone have stats on this? like percentages of internationals who got in with/without FA or something like that.

Unless you are Canadian, I heard that almost no one gets in as an international with financial aid. If you have the financial mean, I suggest you do not apply for Financial aid.

Yea same question here, discuss please

cornell = not need blind for internations.
Internationals are meant to be revenue not a drain on FA.

Harsh but its reality,
cheers,
Mike

hm.. wow.. that's not good. I'm a permanent resident in Canada who chose not to become Canadian.

so, are Canadians treated the exact same way as Americans are treated in the admissions process at Cornell? Why though?

Who would have more chance? A Canadian who needs a lot of aid, or an international(such as Chinese or Korean) who does not apply for aid and is willing to pay the full amount?

thanks

uh... probably the same chance....but it is always slightly harder for Canadians and internationals who aren't even applying for aid compared to US domestic students...

I think I was really lucky. I got into Cornell with a full ride.

Tsenguun, do you mind posting your stats?

Man.. Tsenguun.. >.< I wish I could get some of your financial aid... XD

I guess my diversity and essays got me in. I only had a 1960 SATI, and a 2160 SATII's, both containing perfect math scores.

@ friends04: I come from well below average background. So, even with a full ride, I still have to put much burden on my family's financial situation. But, yeah, it could've been worse without Cornell's full aid.

... maybe I am wrong...? but I have seen some amazing candidates get rejected because they applied for FA. Of course, it's not impossible, but only a handful of people get in.

well, then, I probably shouldn't have gotten in :(

Don't feel that way. You were accepted and you got a great FA package...obviously there is something about you that Cornell likes.
