How hard is it to double major?

I want to Double Major in Global Studies and Asian Studies. What exactly should I do to do it? Can the school tell you "no, you can't do it"? Can anyone tell me exactly how it works as well? If it's difficult to balance to two different majors?

I've always wanted to double major or degree in these two since my freshman year. I also took 7 classes (21 credits) last fall term to see if i can handle a big work load and actually got nothing but A's and B's for those 7 classes. (I floated between Glendale CC and Santa Monica C 3 times a week on the Metro buses, AND was taking Korean 103 and Japanese 101 at the same time, so i'm very proud of myself lol)

Can anyone tell me more about double majoring?

you just have to get the paperwork for doing a double major. i really doubt the school would say no to that.

i think you should be fine! it definitely seems like you can handle it :)

Sound like your majors are somewhat related so their is probably some underdivision overlap which makes it alot easier.

In my case I’m going to double major in Film and Psychology…no overlap there.

I’m thinking about double majoring too. I applied as a psych major but I really want to change to physiological science. But I emailed a UCLA rep and they said they won’t let transfers switch majors into sciences majors. Will I be able to double major in it even though I wouldn’t be a science major???

I will try to double major in Math Economics and Economics International area studies.
I guess that i have bee admitted for ME, but id really like to use my French and Indic languages for my major.
BUT THEY WILL ALLOW YOU TO CHANGE MAJORS ONLY WITHIN YOUR OWN DEPARTMENT.

I thought there is a distinction between changing majors and adding a major.

To add one you just have to get cleared by the department’s head.

How easy is that?

Well I’m applying for psych(hopefully I get in) and then at ucsd i’m also adding visual arts(media) which isn’t impacted at all, so it should be fairly easy.
