Hello all,

I was just curious whether or not transfer students have the opportunity to double major once they successfully transfer to a University of California. There was obviously no place to indicate that desire in the application. So, if anyone here has successfully made it into a UC and is (or know someone who is) double majoring, if you could let me know the process/reqs it would be much appreciated.

thank you so much, and good luck to all of you!

Hey.
I also plan to double major like you.
Its going to be Math/Econ and Econ International area studies.
I had spoken to the UCLA representative early November and she had informed me that in order to double major, you need to check the second major as your alternate major.
You may be accepted for one major and might be rejected for another one, but thats not the end of the world.
She told me that if that happens then you can accpet the admission and speak to the department of your respective second major (( after admittance letter/ or after fall 09' semester ))and request them for the permission to double major. But for that, it is immenent for you to do well in Fall 09'.
Also i would like to get it straightened that double majors not necessary take 2 years more. In my case it will take only 1/2 a year or one semester.
