I'm pretty terrified, and not that confident in my chances of getting into UT. What do you think?

I'm in the top 17% in my school, my overall GPA so far is a 3.6, and my SAT score was 1850.
Do you think I should retake the SAT for a better score?

I'm not sure how much this affects my acceptance, but I live in southern California and my school is known for slight socioeconomic disadvantages.

I would say you have a chance, odds are a little long. Yes retake your SAT’s. Write great essays, and apply to easy programs. You can always transfer later. Texas seems to want So cal kids. Give it a shot.

My daughter got in with a 3.6 gpa and 27 act. She had great EC’s, and wrote a moving essay.

Good Luck

Do you know what your daughter’s rank was? I know they weigh that pretty heavily, so I was just wondering.
