Is it really as hard to get into UT at Austin out of state like everyone says? Or is it pretty much like any other school around the same level out of state? If my ACT fits into their range, my GPA is average, and I write good essays... do I still have a decent shot? Also do out of state kids fit in or do they feel left out because they're not Texan? lol

Also does anyone know anything about which schools/majors are the easiest to get into and which are the hardest?

From what I have heard the easiest to get in is Liberal Arts, then Natural Sciences, the harder being Communications, Engineering and Business. I also know of some kids who have gone in what they called the back door - education. This is all rumor and conjecture though, so take it as that.

It's tough getting in from out of state. But I'm an out of state student myself and i made it! And i'm here now and i love it.
let me know if you have questions!
the key is to have a good balance of everything from academics and extracurriculars but you dont need neither a 2400 score on your SAT or a 4.00 to get in- Although they would help a lot, make sure you have a good balance of things! =)
