How hard is it to get into both Dean's Scholars and Turing Scholars as an entering fr

eshman majoring in Computer Science?

It's been my dream to do this, but I screwed up my freshman and sophomore years in high school. :(

Then that dream may never happen…depending on how bad you messed up. Schools like UT that are required to admit students based on rank do not give second chances (unless you count transferring). The only thing you can do is ace your classes from now on and do well on the SATs.

bump?..

Both programs are very competitive. While logged into CC, you can do an archive search of this forum using the honors program names as key words to see past discussions, some of which included stats of students admitted/denied.

Have you reviewed the sample app for Dean’s Scholars? http://cns.utexas.edu/images/stories/Microsoft_Word_-_HonorsAppSampleFall2011-NSH.pdf

Here, also, is an old brochure – see page 5 for Admission Criteria.

I don’t know that much about Turing Scholars, but I imagine their web pages contain helpful information as well.
