Duke is my top choice because I really want to become a BME-Premed and work as a researcher Md-PhD

Maybe I'm reading this wrong, but ***?

school doesn't rank because of legal issues so top 5%
and i go to one of the top 10 public schools in CA

does teh application for BME differ from the ordinary one? I've applied JHU for BME because I was told that it won't hurt my overall chanches of acceptance.

Well it's going to change, so no more analogies. READ A LOT OF BOOKS! That helps a lot. Math shouldn't be a problem with calculator/logic. Writing is pretty easy; just learn the 7 basic kinds of errors for it and know how to spot them. Writing essays takes practice, so I would research a few topics you like to write about. You don't always have to write sample essays, but learn how to incorporate your information to just about any situation.

Now Verbal
Vocabulary = okay. I never learned a lot of vocab. I just figured them out through logic and roots.
Reading = read for overall message, not for depth. Use logic to cancel out the words in the answer choices. Look for the wrong ones.
