How hard is it to get into UC Berkeley Media Studies?

Anyone know the stats/GPA for transfer acceptance to this major? Is it as difficult to get into as UCLA Comms?

It’s definitely an impacted major and a small department. I think most applicants who apply for UCLA COMM also apply for UCB Media Studies, and that pool right there already consists of impressive GPAs (3.95 average for UCLA) and extra-curriculars…

So the average GPA is around UCLAs (3.9+)? I read somewhere that is was considerably lower.

Ok I’m just gonna come out and say it… media studies is definitely an impacted major at Berkeley, but as for the level of difficulty… it’s one of the easiest majors on campus once you’re accepted…

The impacted majors are impacted for a reason…

I got into Haas with a pretty (considerably) low g.p.a. so I am pretty sure you’ll be ok as long as your GPA and personal statements are good…

Omg oski post your gpa, ECs, and completed prereqs at time of applying please!

oh no, investment is hunting for haas stats so badly

Not too hard - It will be easier than UCLA comms. Check [UC Transfer FAQ | Real Transfer Advice](http://www.uctransferfaq.com) as this is discussed.

This is my face @_@ when I’m hunting for haas stats.

Lol, Investment, you made me laugh.

hahahahahahaha!! Investment did you already lurk through last years admitted thread? If you get in I think you should throw a pizza party in the de anza quad :]

LOL @ Investment :-)

It’s a “capped major,” very competitive. UCLA’s program is very competitive as well. Depending in your stats, it’s a tough major to get into from what I’ve learned
