How hard is it to transfer from CC to UCLA for Comp Sci?

Does it have an low admission rate?

I'm also not sure of which CC to choose ; SBCC or SMC

According to assist.org

For SBCC

ASSIST Report: SBCC 12-13 UCLA Articulation Agreement by Major

For SMC

ASSIST Report: SMCC 12-13 UCLA Articulation Agreement by Major

As you can see SMC nearly covers all the pre-reqs except for one while SBCC misses out four.

I was thinking is it really worth it for me to go SMC to give UCLA a shot? Will my chances be affected if I don't fill the additional requirements as shown in assist.org?(Like SBCC vs SMC)

I heard SMC is packed so ..yeah...Anyone willing to give me some advice? Thanks

Absolutely go to SMCC if the trouble, with respect to time and money, isn’t too great. You’re going to both have a better chance of getting in and you’ll be better prepared once you are in.

Errr you mean SMC?

Err sorry guys I forgot to add this. The reason I was thinking of SBCC is because of UCSB.I mean I won’t put my hopes too high on UCLA which I feel it will be definitely hard to get into(not to mentioned my major is Comp Sci). And about SMC I heard classes were difficult to get into, crowded and etc.

I’m an international student btw.

According to this, in 2012 the admit rate to CompSci at UCLA was 4.5%, and the average admitted GPA was 3.8. Good luck with your decision!

You do have to consider, though, that the average GPA of applicants to CS was a 3.30. If he’s in-line with the average accepted–3.86–he’ll stand a fair shot with decent extracurriculars.

Very good point. I should clarify, I was not trying to put down the OP, I just included the information I thought was relevant.
