how hard is it to transfer from JC to UCLA's new media design major?

Hi im a recent HS graduate and im going through a JC right now so that i can transfer in their Design|New Media major. Has anyone else done it? cause I know acceptance varies by major, GPA, extra curricular etc. I'm hoping a 3.2-3.5 GPA will be enough.. any advice?

average GPA for design|media arts major is 3.58. i think your portfolio will probably have the greatest weight in terms of admissions though.

transfer GPAs by major:

i know someone in this major, and apparently they only accept about 50 people per year.

ahh.. im screwed i guess ?!? admit rate is like 4% for that major. any tips on how i can get into that 4% other than a killer portfolio ( cause i tihnk i may have gotten a hang of that, i got a grant for it for the academy of art). im kinda freaking out cause i really have my heart set on UCLA's program, but if not anybody got ideas on a great school that offers a communications design major? thanks for the help.. really appreciate it ! =)
