how hard is it to transfer into?

Hey guys..I'm curious if anyone out there knows the average gpa for those accepted? I'm looking at either the New College of Florida or UF (though it looks like UF may actually be harder to get in to).

Where are you transfering from?

Brevard Community College…

Things I have going for me:

-military veteran
-3.7 gpa currently…est. to go up to 3.85
-will be completed w/ A.A.
-an active member of the SGA and Environmental Club
-affiliated w/ the Honors program at BCC (though I won’t be grad. w/ an ‘Honors’ degree)
-hopefully I’ll be applying in early Jan…before Statistics has a chance to wreck my gpa :P

Things I have going against me:

-average grades in high school - 3.3 gpa
-i took average courses in high school…1 AP course (but never took the exam)
-i’ve taken average courses in college the last 6 years… b/c the military ed. offices never offered anything beyond a ‘100-level’, survey course

Classes I’m taking this semester:

Geology
Western Civ II
State & Local Govern.
Honors Humanities Survey: Ancient Through Byzantine Culture

Classes I’m taking next semester:

Honors Humanities Survey: Byzantine Through Enlightenment
World Religions
Cultural Anthropology
General Anthropology (or Human Sexuality)
Statistics

*I should have about 40 Service Learning hours as well (if they make a difference?)

Your GPA is fine, but it is the degree to which you challenged yourself academically, and your ability to express yourself well in making a case for why you should be admitted, that will be of the greatest interest to those making admissions decisions at New College.
