I took the ACT this April with minimal prep (I took a few Math and English sections and looked at the Science and Reading sections for about 2 weeks) and here are my scores
M: 30
E: 33
S:26
R:30
Composite: 30
How hard will it be to get a composite of 34 in time for the September ACT (today is the 3rd of June)
who knows?
my kid took his first ACT with minimal prep. He did about what you did. And then he worked and worked and took it again. Got the same score again.
I was in a similar situation as you when I got a 32 composite the first time and then a 35 the second. My advice to you would be to make sure that you have a strategy for the science section so you can manage your time effectively, mine was to do the conflicting view points passage last. Same thing with reading, then you just have to get a lot better with the tough problems in math. To realistically have a chance at a 34 you have to bump math up to a 34, English should be a 35, Science has to be a 33 and reading has to be 34. Don’t forget that 30 is still a great score and that 33 and above is 99th percentile already. Good Luck!
Definitely possible. I went from a 27 to a 31 and now I’m shooting for a 33. Just put in a lot of prep and try to become as familiar as you can with the test. You can do it if you try. Good luck.
Thanks for the replies guys!!!
