i was just wondering how much importance colleges give to the freshman + sophomore year grades and can a low gpa (average of 3.05) hurt ur chances a lot?

Usually the main emphasis is on your grade 11 and first term grade 12 marks. They will look at your grade 9 and 10 marks, and if you show an upward trend in your GPA, it can help you.

I think they will care more about 11th, 12th grade gpa, especially 12th grade, I guess... so don't worry about it! Good luck

they look at it all .... trends are identified

for recent 11 and 12 grade ones ..they observe closely for all details....individually.......

thanks all of you...

the one problem i have is that my school has columns for only the first term (not the first semester) and the second term in the report card... and i talked to my counselor who said that she can't fill the 'first term' column for me because we are not done with the first term yet...

in the vassar application, they give u a box and ask u (you, not your counselor) to fill it with ur first trimester grades and the schedule of ur senior year... when i showed this to my counselor, she said i should fill it up by myself with whatever grades i have gotten but they won't be in my report card coz its not formatted that way...

but im thinking won't the college doubt the credibility of the grades i put myself if there's no documentation of them?... what should i do about this?
