I'm going into my sophomore year of high school. I took Spanish 1 in middle school and Spanish 2 last year. Next year I'm doubling up on AP science classes, and I'm taking orchestra all four years, so I don't have room for Spanish 3. I'm studying Spanish 3 this summer to test out so that colleges can see I did that, but I don't think that I'm going to do very well with the way that my studies are going now. Foreign language just isn't my strength, at least not independently studied like this. So, how important is it that I take Spanish 3 (at least)? I really don't want to have to drop sciences in order to take more Spanish, but I'm thinking about looking into summer classes or something of that sort instead maybe.

very

Two years of a foreign language is often the minimal requirement at most schools. Some do require or recommend 3 or 4 years. So, by not taking Spanish 3, it may hurt your chance at those schools. You can make it up in senior year, summer class, or community college though.
