How important are mid-year reports?

I am an international student from hk. For my school, the 1st term exams starts a bit late and the results are only out in early March. This has passed the deadline already. So I’d like to know how important is a mid-year (and to an international student who has taken the SATI, IIs and toefl, hkcee-high school diploma, transcript sent as the only acadmic record)?

Another thing is, the Hong Kong A-Levels is VERY difficult compared with the British one. Will the colleges know this when they see my mid-year? (Coz my in-school exams are based on the AL)

Would be grateful for your help!

yeah ive got this question too,
hope i dont steal your thunder, but will colleges mind if ive been at like a 3.95(mostly As bunch of B+s) for my first 6 semesters than catch a few Bs and B+s in a number of AP classes for like a 3.8 for this semester..im freaking out...

I am not sure about this, but I guess a slight difference in grades won't hurt much if you really deserve the place right? :))

You should talk to the admissions offices of the schools you applied to and tell them about your situation. Most schools will still want to see how much effort you're putting in during your last semester of high school even if it's past the deadline. Plus, mid-year and end-of-the-year reports are very important if you happen to be put on the waiting list at any of the schools you applied to.
