how much importance do you think the admissions people will weigh your mid year grades?

i really hope not a lot bc i didnt do all that grade last semester =(

yea same with me
so i am hoping they just wanted the grades to make sure you werent failing

USC sent a rep to my school in october or something to give a presentation on the school.

as usual, after the presentation there was a QnA session.

I asked, "Does USC look at your senior year grades?" - i asked bc at the time i was unaware of the midyear school report plus i knew the UC's didnt and wanted to know what SC's policies were.

The rep responded almost in shock, as she stated that senior year grades were very important and went on a rant about how SC takes ur first semester grades into consideration.

honestly, from what i have heard, they act like they hella care but really dont.

my friend got 2 Cs in his classes this year.. 2 Bs and 2 As, and prveiously he had a 3.68 UW 2180 SAT.. and got in anyway.

I agree that midyear grades are not terribly important. They asked D for them, grades were even to slightly down, they still admitted her. Maybe they just wanted to make sure that the grades did not tank.

as long as u didnt go from a 4.0 to a 3.0 in one semester i think ur ok. or at least i hope so cuz i didnt do all that well last semester either xD

cross fingers for USC!

haha yea i am just nervous because i only took 5 classes last semester but they were all aps and honors
but i am thinking that still looks bad

tammers- You'll be fine. I only took 5 classes as well and I just got in!

Aww, I was really hoping that first semester senior year grades would really count :(

I got one of the best grades in my high school career last semester, haha.
Ironic how it came SENIOR year xD

Well, I hope it helps. I was seriously hoping it would help.

OH NO. don't get the wrong idea. if you got GOOD grades, it would DEFINITELY help! we are just saying if you got bad grades, it won't affect you as much.. good grades will definitely help though!!! cheer up! :)

Not just USC but other colleges also accept students with an occasional C in their Senior year. D's friend was accepted to Claremont McKenna and NYU with good scholarship($25K). I believe good grades help in borderline case.
