Hello,
I am a junior who is pretty much obsessed about attending Hamilton College. My UW GPA is a 3.87, and by the time I graduate high school, I will have taken 9 AP classes and a few college classes including Calculus II and III. However, my class rank is suffering due to the nature of my school to give out easy A's in regular classes. I am right around the top 15% and will probably remain somewhere around that rank. How much more difficult would that make getting into Hamilton for me? My ACT will probably be at least a 33 (got a 30 soph year), and I am Hispanic which should give me an edge. I am also planning on applying ED 1. So how much will my class rank hurt me?
Thanks

According to CollegeBoard’s college search engine, Hamilton considers class rank and academic GPA to be “very important admission factors.”

However, I’d take this with a grain of salt since GPA and rank are both calculated differently at different schools. It will depend on the context of your situation.

A third “very important admission factor” is the rigor of your high schools classes :)

I wouldn’t worry about it too much, I think you stand a good chance!

I don’t think class rank matters that much. I’m sure the same thing happens to a lot of people. Also, a lot of schools don’t even rank (like mine) so I’m sure they don’t care that much about it. It sounds like you’re in good shape as long as you have good extra curriculars
